How to use

Using a developer effectively involves clear communication, collaboration, and providing them with the necessary resources to complete their tasks. We also recommend consulting a hair expert. Whether you’re managing a developer or working with one, here are some tips on how to use a developer efficiently:

A hair color developer, also known as a hair color activator or oxidizing agent, is a crucial component when dyeing your hair. It helps activate the hair color molecules and facilitates the color-changing process. Here’s how to use a hair color developer effectively:

Note: Always follow the instructions provided with your specific hair color and developer products, as different brands and formulations might have slightly different guidelines.

Materials Needed

  • Hair color dye

  • Hair color developer (choose the appropriate volume)

  • Mixing bowl

  • Hair coloring brush or applicator

  • Gloves

  • Old clothes or a salon cape

  • Timer

  • Plastic wrap or shower cap (optional)

Steps

Start with the Freecia Professional Developer:

The developer volume you choose depends on your hair color goals and your hair’s current condition. Lower volumes (10 or 20) are suitable for minimal color change or gray coverage, while higher volumes (30 or 40) are used for more significant color changes.

Mix the Hair Color and Developer:

In a mixing bowl, combine the desired amount of hair color dye and the hair color developer in the recommended ratio. Usually, it’s a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio, depending on the brand and type of hair color.

Stir Thoroughly:

Use a hair coloring brush or applicator to stir the mixture thoroughly until it’s well blended. Make sure there are no lumps or clumps.

Do a Patch Test (Optional but Recommended):

Before applying the mixture all over your hair, consider doing a patch test to check for any allergic reactions or adverse effects. Apply a small amount of the mixture behind your ear or on your inner arm, and wait for 24 hours to observe any reactions.

Protect Your Skin and Clothing:

Put on gloves to protect your hands and old clothes or a salon cape to prevent staining. Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly or a barrier cream along your hairline and ears to prevent color from staining your skin.

Apply the Hair Color Mixture:

Start applying the mixture to your hair using the hair coloring brush or applicator. Begin at the roots and work your way down to the ends, ensuring even coverage. If you’re doing root touch-up, focus on the regrowth area first.

Time the Process:

Use a timer to track the processing time. The recommended time can vary based on the hair color brand and developer volume. Follow the instructions provided with your hair color product.

Check Color Development:

As the processing time nears its end, check the color development. Wipe off a small section of hair color with a damp cloth or paper towel to see if the desired color has been achieved. If not, continue processing for the remaining time.

Rinse and Condition:

Once the desired color is achieved, rinse your hair thoroughly with lukewarm water until the water runs clear. Follow up with a color-safe conditioner to help lock in the color and maintain hair health.

Style and Maintain:

Style your hair as usual. To maintain your newly colored hair, use color-safe hair care products and avoid frequent washing with harsh shampoos.

Remember, using a hair color developer requires careful attention to instructions and timing. If you’re uncertain about the process, it’s a good idea to consult a professional hair colorist for guidance and assistance.

  1. Jacquiline

Good stuff! Works well for adding color to your hair. Mix 1 part Satin hair color to 2 parts Developer 10% (or any strength) and paint this on your hair. Leave on 45 mins, shampoo off with cool (not hot) water. Done.
    Heartily recommend.

  2. Rupal

While I must STRONGLY advise against bleaching your own hair, I will say this developer really gets your hair to a nice light blond without hurting it. I’d use it again… as long as someone else is applying it on me…

  3. Sonal

Great product and super fast shipping!

  4. Aahana Makover

I have used it with inoa hair color. Its a good product. Make sure that you shake the bottle before mixing with the color otherwise your mixture would not be cream base.

  5. Sonamika Kakkar

    It worked perfectly

  6. Brototi Banerjee

The Developer & color is very good. It adds a different texture to your hair.

  7. Kindle Customer

  11. Simmie

    Its good. Serves the purpose!
Kept it for 50 minutes as it had to work on salt and pepper hair. The time suggested on the product was 30-50mins.

  12. Bliss

This is one of best hair bleach, Just mixed blonder with developer 1:2 Ratio.

  13. Eva

I tried this product and I was skeptical because of less cost, but let me tell you it worked wonders in a period of 25-30mins. The only thing I did not do and you wouldn’t too is use the 40 volume on hair for 25-30 minutes maximum for no damage on ur hair !! It suggested 50 but my hairs felt like on fire after 30 minutes coz of high amount of peroxide , but considering it 40 volume .. you shouldn’t keep it for 50 minutes

  14. layla mishra

Amazoning product exactly as I was searching a long time. My hair is shining and very gold. I bought for experiment after use a lot of bad products in the market. thanks a lot

  15. Merida

Nice seller and brand results were good with single application. A small drawback was hair went really frizzy and hard but that is ofcourse bleach, I strongly recommend it. 200 ml was sufficient for my hair also I did not use the complete bottle. I suggest you to go for small bottle for short hair.

  16. Gerald

Just as described and gets work done just as good as any of the more expensive alternatives from L’Oréal or Garnier. Packaging is not as fancy but that doesn’t matter as it is just very affordably priced when compared to the competition!

  17. Aryan

Easy to use , Nice Product

  18. Uzma Khan

    totally nice …I like it
